Art Therapy Sessions commencing February 2025!
What is Art Therapy?
Art Therapy utilises creative expression as a therapeutic tool to enhance mental health across all age groups. It is based on the belief that engaging in artistic activities can foster healing and promote mental well-being.
The main goal of art therapy is to harness the creative process to help individuals explore themselves, gain personal insights, and develop effective coping strategies. Through the creation or appreciation of art, individuals can navigate their emotions, build self-awareness, manage stress, boost self-esteem, and improve social skills.
Art therapy techniques may involve activities such as collage-making, colouring, doodling, drawing, finger painting, and painting. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their artwork to uncover the emotions it evokes, which can help reveal underlying themes and conflicts that influence their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
Art therapy can be particularly beneficial for addressing a wide range of issues, including challenges related to aging, anxiety, depression, emotional difficulties, family or relationship concerns, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and stress, among others.
NOTICE: While this therapy is suitable for all age groups, we recommend that a parent or guardian be onsite for children under 18. Please be aware that whilst a parent or guardian may be onsite, they may not be included in all sessions. We offer a waiting area where parents or guardians are welcome to stay during the session.
If this seems like a good fit for you or someone you know, feel free to contact us to discuss pricing and schedule an appointment.
